Employers in Quebec get direct access to the immigrant recruitment portal

The Minister of Quebec’s MIFI has made an announcement on November 5 to start a new initiative for the Employer Portal. Through this feature, the employers and businesses in Quebec will be able to recruit immigrants living in Quebec and abroad with the help of data from the Arrima portal of Quebec’s immigration system. Employers can get direct access to the profiles of potential candidates in Quebec or abroad. They are also eligible to get support from an immigration advisor. This new feature is initiated to manage the selection of immigrants who are best suitable for the current labor market trends. With the help of this initiative, businesses in the province of Quebec can directly access the profiles of immigrants and offer jobs to them. Only those companies that are registered in the Enterprise Register are eligible to recruit immigrants, international students, or workers from abroad. The Ministry of Quebec believes that if the profiles of immigration candidates are made available to the recruitment companies, they can easily pinpoint potential candidates who best fit their needs. If a match is established between employers and immigration candidates, companies become eligible to get personalized assistance. This support is offered by the immigration advisors and will be available in all regions of the province. The Employers’ Portal has been active since June 2019 and it is a free service. And the current version allows the companies to search independently for immigration candidates.

How to access the Employers’ Portal?

Companies have to create a profile in Quebec’s Arrima system. After creating a profile, they can seek online assistance. Then, within five days, companies will receive a response from an immigration advisor. After getting access to the portal, companies can conduct their independent research. The new feature on the Employers’ Portal will help to address Quebec’s labor shortages in specific fields and will ensure a strong economic recovery.
