The PNP weekly draw results between April 29 and May 5 were released for British Columbia, New Brunswick, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan.
The most recent Provincial Nominee Program draw results are on display for the public, and four Canadian provinces have invited candidates.
The PNP is the most well-known route for economic immigration to Canada. By the end of 2025, Canada will be accepting 117,500 new permanent residents under the PNP, according to the Immigration Levels Plan 2023–2025.
The PNP is possible because the federal and provincial governments share immigration duties. Whereas IRCC has the final word on who qualifies as a permanent resident.
The province is also able to target shortcomings in the provincial labor force by implementing a program that enables the provinces to choose competent arrivals. These are specifically those they believe have the highest chance of economically flourishing in the country. Both administrations view this as a useful instrument for boosting Canada’s economy.
The maximum number of nominees a province may submit varies annually. For 2023, 105,000 PNP applicants will be the total target. The 11 provinces and territories with PNP programs (Quebec and Nunavut don’t have PNPs) further acquire a share of the available slots.
For instance, Ontario will receive 16,500 nominations in 2023, and Newfoundland and Labrador just stated that it will receive 3,050 nominations. This is in fact double the increase from the 1,500 it received in 2022.
PNP weekly draw results between April 29 and May 5
British Columbia
Over 171 candidates were invited by British Columbia on May 2 via the BC PNP. Three of the draws happened to be targeted, while one was general. Also, four distinct draws helped in the selection of candidates.
These Candidates from the Skilled Worker and International Graduate Streams (including Express Entry applicants) became invitees to apply in the general draw. However, only if they met the minimal cut-off scores of 104 for skilled workers or 107 for international graduates. If they had obtained a minimum score of 85, applicants for the Entry-Level and Semi-Skilled streams may also have received an invitation.
The three targeted draws required the lowest score of 60. In a draw pertaining to early childhood educators and assistants, there were 22 invitees. 16 of them had healthcare occupations and just below five from other priority occupations. Candidates under the Entry-Level and Semi-Skilled didn’t belong to the targeted draws.
Saskatchewan
On May 3, Saskatchewan held two separate draws for invitations to 1032 hopefuls. The SINP Express Entry stream selected 739 applicants for invitations. The Occupations-In-Demand stream made it possible to invite the final 293 candidates. Candidates in both disciplines required an Educational Credential Assessment with a minimum score of 68.
Throughout 2023, the province held draws once a month.
New Brunswick
The PNP draw results for April are on display for the public in New Brunswick. The province normally extends invitations to candidates throughout the month, publishing all results at once.
86 applicants obtained invitations in April via the NB PNP’s Express Entry stream. Of those, 45 belonged to the New Brunswick Employment Connection, and 27 to the New Brunswick Student Connection. However, the final 14 belonged to the New Brunswick Occupations in Demand Connection.
Candidates have 45 days to submit a comprehensive application after receiving an invitation. Candidates will need to respond to the nomination in their Federal Express Entry account within 30 days after the province approves their nomination.

539 letters of recommendation to apply for the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program were distributed by Manitoba on May 4. Candidates from the three streams received invitations.
252 applicants who received a score of at least 606 in the Skilled Worker stream were selected in an occupation-specific draw. The following professions were taken into consideration for candidates:
- 12 – Specialized administrative positions and financial and administrative supervisors.
- 22- Technical employment opportunities involving the natural and applied sciences.
- 70 – Middle management positions in the transportation and trades.
A non-occupational draw awarded 199 extra Skilled Workers a Letter of Advice to Apply. A score of 650 was necessary for these applicants. A minimum score of 699 was essential for invitations to 39 candidates for the International Education Stream and 49 candidates for the Skilled Workers Overseas Stream.
