Prince Edward Island province has introduced its (Provincial Nominee Program) PNP draws a plan for 2022. The PEI PNP program introduced its plan at the start of the year and the province has to follow this timetable for the whole year to schedule the draw. COVID 19 pandemic has blocked the processing scheduled by the province in 2020. The 12 PEI PNP draw dates are introduced for 2022. PEI aims to invite new immigrants who are selected in PNP nomination in any one of the following categories:
- Express Entry
- Labour Impact
- Business Impact.
In January 2020, the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) had offered invitations to132 new candidates to stay and work in PEI. Almost 121 new candidates had got invitations under the Express Entry and Labor Impact program and the other 11 candidates got invitations under the Business Impact category. The Provincial scores of these candidates were a minimum of 72 points.
PEI had invited almost 1,804 new candidates to apply through provincial nomination programs in 2021. In these invitations around 1,697 candidates applied under the Labour Impact Category and Express Entry program and the remaining 157 candidates applied under the Business Impact category. The PEI PNP Express Entry Category
The Express Entry stream in PEI PNP is an upgraded Provincial Nominee Program which is attached with theExpress Entry system of the federal government of PEI. To be eligible for the Express Entry program an individual has to submit a profile in the Express Entry system. The Express Entry program acts as an application management director which has to handle the movement of applications under three immigration programs:
1. Federal Skilled Worker Program
2. Federal Skilled Trades Program
The selection of a candidate depends upon their( Comprehensive Ranking System) CRS points which are issued on the basis of:
- Age of the applicant
- Working experience in specific skills.
- Training in his intended profession.
- Language proficiency results in English and French.
Express Entry candidates who got selected under the PNP program received an ITA (Invitation to Apply) by which they are eligible to apply for permanent residency status in Canada. To be eligible for a provincial nomination in PEI, The candidates under the Express Entry program have to submit an (Expression of Interest) EOI profile in PEI PNP. The highest scoring individuals can get an invitation to apply in monthly draws under this program.
Labour Impact Category
The Labour Impact Category is for foreign workers who are seeking employment in PEI and supported by their manager. It has three categories:
1. Skilled Worker
2. Critical Worker
3. International Graduate
In this category, Candidates have to show an (Expression of Interest) EOI to get selected for a provincial nomination under Labour Impact Category.
Business Impact Category
In the Business Impact Category, candidates have to get the necessary provincial score to submit their applications. The invitations issued by the PEI PNP were through the Work Permit program which is designed for entrepreneurs from other countries who want to establish their business in PEI.
